Laetare Sunday - 4th Sunday in Lent

We have arrived at the mid-point of our Lenten journey and we are invited to recognise the distance we have come on that the end point at Easter will soon be in sight. 

The Collect of today's Mass encourages us to continue our Lenten journey together.

O God, who through your Word
reconcile the human race to yourself in a wonderful way,
grant, we pray,
that with prompt devotion and eager faith
the Christian people may hasten
toward the solemn celebrations to come.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Renewed in prayer - taking opportunities to pray and joining in our Lenten spiritual programme.
Strengthened by fasting - doing without to express that without God we are nothing and that our dependency is upon God.  
​Giving to those in need - spreading the love of God to our brothers and sisters and recognising the face of Jesus in them by giving of our time and resources.
