This weekend we have a collection for the work of Missio, Pope Francis' charity for mission. World Mission Sunday is vital to the growth of the Church and the spread of the Gospel in predominantly impoverished and remote areas overseas. The funds raised build much-needed infrastructure, from chapels and schools to orphanages, clinics and dispensaries. Requested by the local community, the support from Missio transforms lives and creates a hub from which the young Church can flourish and grow. World Mission Sunday is one of only three Papal collections and has been especially chosen by the Holy Father to support the mission of the Church in the world via Mission. Musicians and Singers - Our parish liturgy and the offering of the Mass is enriched with our music. we are very grateful for all those who assist as musicians and singers. we do require more choir members for the 5pm, 10am & 12 noon Masses. In addition we would value the skills and talents of musicians to accompany our 5pm Mass choir. This is a special opportunity to join with great parishioners who support the parish in this way. Can you help?
Altar Serving - We have a number of new altar servers and wish to recruit additional new servers. If your child or grandchild would be interested in becoming an altar server, please let Fr Jonathan or Fr Alex know. We hope to begin a new training programme soon after half term. Readers Rota - Is now available in the porch. We really need additional readers at the 12 noon Mass. Would you consider volunteering please? We are grateful to all those who generously proclaim the word of God in our liturgy. Please remember to request a visit from the Catholic Chaplaincy team if you or a relative or friend are going into hospital. Simply make the request through a member of the nursing staff. Alternatively please contact Fr Alex or Fr Jonathan who will pass on the information to the hospital chaplain. Fr Alex is now undertaking chaplaincy duties at Heartlands & Solihull on Tuesdays.
Pope Francis prayer intention for the month of October, asks that the Church be one of synodality, which means walking together, along the same road. |
