Our parish SVP group cordially invite anyone who wishes to attend a special mass on the feast day of Our Lady of Walsingham, Saturday 24th September at 1pm here at Sacred Heart and Holy Souls Church. Within Mass those who wish to be anointed with the Holy Oil of the Sick will receive the Lord's blessing and protection. For those requiring transport, this can be arranged in advance. We pray for all who are sick, housebound and lonely. May they know and experience the Lord's special care and protection for them. Please pray too for the work of our SVP in the parish and for the success of this healing mass.

From Thursday 18th August we are encouraged to pray the short Novena Prayer for the Canonisation of Blessed Dominic Barberi until his feast day on Friday 26th August.

Prayer for Canonisation:

O God, who so lovingly raised Blessed Dominic
to the heights of holiness, learning and apostolic zeal
and made him a powerful minister of your mercy,
listen to our humble request.

We pray that you will in your goodness,
grant a miracle through the intercession of Blessed Dominic
so that the Church may further honour him on earth
and that many more people will come to know
and invoke the help of this faithful servant of the Church.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
