Legion of Mary

Picture
Our parish has hosted the Legion of Mary for the last 60 years and it is still going strong, with an Adult and Junior Legion.

We carry out many works
-  Visit parishoners, to support and encourage them in their faith
-  Visit the elderly, bereaved and those in need
-  Share our faith in reaching out to non- believers, other faiths and Christians
-  Encourage lapsed to return back to their faith
-  Pray with others
-  Give out medals / rosarys, newletters, prayer cards, other literature, holy water

Different types of membership:
-  Junior Legionaries who are under 18 years of age, are required to attend a Wednesday weekly meeting, (during school term times).  They also have to undertake Legion Work but this is adjusted for their age group.
-  Adult Legionaries attend a weekly meeting, (day/time could be changed to fit in with new members).  2 hours work is carried out in pairs.  Some Legion prayers have to be said daily.
-  Auxiliary Legion Members support the work of the Legion of Mary by their prayers.  They agree to say the Rosary and Legion Prayers each day but don’t attend meetings or do work.
