LIVESTREAMING IN CHURCH
GDPR AND DATA COMPLIANCE:
The screenshot below is the view of Church livestream during mass and 24/7 via our parish YouTube channel (as of 13th July 2023). If you do not wish to be seen on this shot either coming into Church by the side door or at Holy Communion, please make this known to a steward or one of the priests who will be happy to assist you. We advise sitting towards the back and on a Sunday receiving Holy Communion at the cross-way. We have plenty of seating available in Church.
If you have any concerns please contact the parish or Debbie Jones, the Archdiocesan Data Compliance Manager: debbie.jones@rcaob.org.uk.

HISTORY OF OUR LIVESTREAM
During the first lockdown in April 2020, when public acts of worship were prohibited, the parish began live-streaming daily Mass on our YouTube channel using a mobile phone. This was one way of assisting parishioners spiritually through the darkest days of the lockdown. As the video reflection above from Vatican News makes clear, the power and blessing of technology has enabled many people to come closer to Christ, whether by joining the Pope virtually for Mass each day or here in Acocks Green.
Below left, is a picture of the original Mass view during the time when Mass wasn't said with a congregation, and right is a picture of a different Mass angle with a congregation. For this originally we used a camera phone for livestreaming Mass until the parish made an appeal to buy and install a livestream camera. Within weeks through the generosity of our parishioners we reached our total and in November 2020, just in time for the start of Advent 2020 a professionally installed livestream camera was up and running.
