On Saturday 24th September, the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham, we celebrated Mass with the Anointing of the Sick, for members of our community who are sick and housebound. To enable this to happen our SVP conference provided transport as well as sandwiches and tea after the Mass in the meeting room. It was a very moving and uplifting experience for all who came, and to be able to bring people to church who haven't been to Mass in a while was extra special. Thank you again to all who helped make this event happen.  The Church at Sacred Heart and Holy Souls is open each day (8.30am to dusk) for prayer and to light a candle during the day at the Lady altar. During these days of national mourning you may wish to pray also for the repose of the soul of Queen Elizabeth.  Together with the Royal Family and our nation, the Catholic community in Acocks Green prays for the Repose of the Soul of Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace. Amen. |
