WELCOME TO THE PARISH WEBSITE OF
SACRED HEART AND HOLY SOULS
The Catholic Parish of Sacred Heart and Holy Souls in Acocks Green is located about 5 miles south-east of Birmingham city centre. The parish is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
The church, built in the neo-gothic style, dates to 1922 and it was erected with the intention of becoming a war memorial, a shrine of prayer for the victims of the war. Today, our parish continues to be a place of welcome and prayer for its parishioners and visitors alike. Please feel free to visit us in person or get in touch by phone, letter or email. You can also interact with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as our online Masses via YouTube. If you've been away for a while due to the pandemic we wish to welcome you back home to your parish community. Please be assured of our prayers and kindest wishes. THE SYNODAL JOURNEY - Walking Together
Adsumus Prayer for the Synod:
We stand before You, Holy Spirit,
as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us,
make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go
and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful;
do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path
nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity
so that we may journey together to eternal life
and not stray from the way of truth
and what is right.
All this we ask of You,
who are at work in every place and time,
in the communion of the Father and the Son,
forever and ever. Amen
